i've been rolfed + 10 blogs in a day

i admit to writing on my wall: if i believe, then it is possible.
i don't really know what a blog is. i would normally google or wikipedia it, but that might just get me more blogged, i mean, blocked on this. Especially when it comes to blogging for work-- even if it is grassroots, nonviolent organizing work. i've been thinking about blogging for-eh-ver. and here come the buts. But i didn't know what one was. But it seemed like a party where people were showin' up with some real interestin' and articulate things to say and i just got shy, your honor. But i don't have the energy to write articles and sure, they** say we can write how we wish but....
Notes to self: Smile. Take a deep breath. Feel the effects of yesterday's Rolfing*. Realign.
So i as nice and supportive Ethan sends me good blogging vibes while he, Mark and Ruby flow into this virtual receptacle with ease... i stand in the corner timidly at first-- AND then boldly i decry:
"Wherever you are, my virtual friend, listen! i declare today to be 'alejandra will write ten (10) blogs in a day' day."** i then breathe deeply, once more as breathing often is best, from my pelvic floor and out the top of my head just like Kevin the Rolfer suggested.
If i believe then, it is possible.
i have worked with the Fellowship of Reconciliation since i left college at the University of Texas at Austin close to six years ago. IS THAT RIGHT? Whew. Someone feel free to correct me on this. i will dutifully correct myself in a future blog if i am wrong. Sigh. Say it with me: Time sho' does fly.
i started as an intern and have continued to be involved in organizing and facilitating contracts with the Nonviolent Youth Collective of the FOR on and off since then. It is this experience that is central to my development as a Cultural Designer and Artist.
So, i figure, this is great. Blogging among the FOR community and friends is more than likely to increase our capacity to document, share information, reflect, question, etc. All quite r-evolutionary. All quite to my taste. All very strategic. Why not show up boldly at this virtual justice part-ay? This is no time to be timid with our visions and our questions. My next nine (9) blogs will be about:
- FOR Seabeck 2007, looking back
- The Tukwila 6 in Washington state and Jena 6 in Louisiana. Sigh.
- Affordable housing in New Orleans
- Truth in Recruiting and exciting collaborations in the Twin Cities, MN
- Chicago upcoming event--Truth in Recruting: Student and Veteran Empowerment Project
- Ode to Veterans
- Latest musings on nonviolent organizing
- Artists, activists and Pedagogy of the Oppressed
- Sorpresa!
Che Guevara questioned, traveled, reflected and joined in armed resistence as his response to injustice. He also wrote a heckuvalot. i'm not saying i'm the next Che, but i am indeed a member of a growing number of young people who are contributing to the definition and look of Truthforce (my prefered word for practical and theoretical nonviolence).
So,
If i believe, then, it is possible?

Rolfing is a bodywork technique. For more on Rolfing*, check out my friend Kevin's website {{informrolfing.com}} and future blogs. i am currently under his care. My whole world, through my body, is changing. Thanks, Kevin!
