"Soldier Girls: Women and the Military"
March 8th, International Women's Day, 5-8 p.m.

Co-Sponsored by the Fellowship of Reconciliation's Nonviolent Youth Collective
Please join us for a screening of Nick Broomfield's acclaimed documentary, "Soldier Girls," and participate in an open discussion with a panel of female combat veterans, including Patty McCann, who served in Iraq in 2003 and is now an active member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Elaine Tuman, who served in Afghanistan in 2003.
"Soldier Girls" depicts a group of young women going through basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. We encourage all young women who are considering the military as a possible career option to attend and participate in a discussion on the military from a female perspective. All veterans, students, and teachers are welcome, and all female veterans are invited to share their experiences on the panel.
This is the kick-off event for the AFSC's Truth and Recruitment campaign "March to Justice in July." Every second Saturday of the month, we will be hosting awesome events exploring social justice issues surrounding war and military enlistment with food, music, films, and special guest speakers.
Stay tuned for a list of upcoming events! If you are interested in participating in an upcoming event please contact by e-mail: Patty McCann or Sheena Gibbs.
