Give the gift of peace by sustaining FOR
Today we celebrate international Human Rights Day in honor of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was signed on December 10th, 1948. With this shared vision acknowledging we are all members of the human family, FOR’s executive director Mark Johnson is currently leading a 10-member delegation in Iran. This is the kind of grassroots peacemaking work that is made possible by your support of FOR.

As we close out 2007, we can look back with excitement and gratitude. This past November our staff organized a 2-day advocacy conference on Grassroots Civilian Diplomacy in Washington, DC. Attendees were able to actually meet with government officials and share their concerns about militarism in domestic and foreign policy. Many of us also joined with other comrades at the School of the Americas Protest and Vigil in Ft. Benning, Georgia. And while FOR's delegates are meeting Iranian civilians such as Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi one-on-one and fostering inter-cultural understanding, other members of our team are training the next generation of peacemakers, supporting peace activists in Colombia, and much more.
We at FOR are also grateful for you. We want to thank all our supporters for your continuing support whether it be through your prayers, finances, or hand-in-hand work for justice. As members of the Beloved Community, we need each other. If you haven’t already done so, please take time to send a donation to support our ongoing work to create and increase peace and fellowship.
