Home sweet waterlogged home
If you are not on our mailaing list you may not have heard about the major disaster that befell the FOR office a few weeks ago. This article in the (Nyack) Journal News tells the story:
But on July 6, a sprinkler on the third floor malfunctioned about 7:30 a.m., when no one was around, Vesely-Flad said. The Nyack Fire Department responded and turned off the water system, but it took just a short time for the ceiling to collapse and cause extensive water damage throughout the structure.
Members of the group said fire and building inspectors are investigating the cause of the malfunction.
On a recent morning, a hole about 10 feet wide spanned the ceiling of the third floor.

At this time, we are starting to come back to work in the building and some staff members are restoring and reassembling their work areas while volunteers help us to dry out and move an ocean of books and papers that had to be moved. I hope to post some pictures of the damage here later ths week.
We have received about $8,000 in donations so far but expect to have to pay something like $50,000 above and beyond our insurance. Allthough we don't know yet exactly how muh this will cost, we definitely need all the help we can get! If would like to give a donation you can do so through Change.org. Your gifts are moral support are much appreciated.
