Summer Solstice Celebration at Shadowcliff

Hello and Happy late spring,

I wanted to inform you about this special program - info below - being initiated at RCC this fall, for your own interest or if you have friends or colleagues who might be interested in hosting. I met with Laurie Pina, the coordinator at Rockland Community College, recently. The program sounds well structured and intense, with an intention to prepare the women participants to make a significant contribution to their home country. A requirement is that they must return home after the two year program.

I have agreed to host a student in my home. This fits quite well with Whole Women Healing's mission to facilitate women's healing and empowerment, and our commitment to join FOR's delegation to Colombia in August, from which I will return to greet my student.

Report: Women of Compassion Celebration and Awards Ceremony

Whole Women Healing’s Women of Compassion Celebration and 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony was a success on all levels, offering inspiration and kindness in an uplifting, peaceful environment. The evening event, offered on May 16th in partnership with the Fellowship of Reconciliation, was held at Shadowcliff, their national headquarters in Nyack, NY.

I wanted to share my experience of the CSW meeting, which ran from February 23 to March 8th (International Women's Day) at the United Nations this year.

From the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations:
* International Women's Day (March 8) is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world.  This day is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday.
